Adjust the ergobag correctly - here's how!

The correct adjustment of the ergobag is important so that the weight of the school materials is optimally distributed and the schoolchildren's backs are protected. We'll show you what to look out for!

Children should be allowed to be children - even on the way to school. That's why we've been working for over 10 years to make ergobag as ergonomic as possible, so that children can run around, play and run with a school bag on their back.
For this reason, ergobag is designed to offer children the greatest possible freedom of movement and to shift the weight of school books, exercise books etc. to the stable pelvic area. Correctly adjusted, the ergobag makes going to school child's play!

How the ergobag sits correctly

The >>Your-Size-System<< adapts to the height of the child and thus relieves the spine during the entire primary school years. The satchel models pack, cubo and maxi are equipped with this system. Simply unfold the back padding, release the velcro height adjustment and adjust to the correct body height. So every growth spurt can come!

The cubo light is equipped with the ultra-light >>hugging system<<. In order to make this model particularly light, we have dispensed with the height adjustment. This means that the back section does not need to be adjusted. However, the pelvic fins and the chest strap should always remain closed on the way to school so that the load can be transferred to the stable pelvis.

2. The back padding

The breathable back padding lies over the Your-Size-System and makes the ergobag particularly comfortable. It is important that the padding has full contact with the back.

3. The pelvic fins

The padded pelvic fins of the backpack transfer a large part of the weight from the shoulders to the stable pelvis. If the pelvic fins rest on the hips and the backpack sits well above the bottom, the ergobag is correctly adjusted!

__4. Strapped in correctly __

Once the back system has been adjusted, the shoulder straps should be tightened so that the backpack lies close to the back. Finally, the chest and lap belts must be fastened. Make sure that they fit snugly but do not cut in when you are standing up straight. This shifts the weight from the shoulders to the more stable pelvic area and prevents anything from slipping!

If you follow these steps, your ergobag is correctly adjusted and the school day can begin. Thanks to the ergobag's child-friendly fasteners, kids can easily put on their satchel and adjust it correctly on their own. However, as the topic of ergonomics is probably not particularly exciting for the little ones, we have a little experiment here on how you can convince your children to fasten the chest and lap straps at all times!

The ergobag bottle

Get a few filled water bottles - whether they are made of glass or PET doesn't matter. Place them visibly in front of your child while you ask them to pull the unfilled ergobag onto their back. At first, the chest or lap belt should remain open. Now put one bottle after the other into the school companion. The little wearer should report as soon as the weight is strongly felt. Then take all the bottles out again and repeat the process, but this time with the chest and lap belt closed and without the child seeing how many bottles are packed in the school bag. They should report back when the backpack or satchel has become just as heavy as the first attempt. Your kids will be amazed at how much more weight they can actually carry more comfortably when the chest and lap belts are fastened. Have fun trying it out!
